Pastor Pam Kranzler has been preaching for 14 years and began in Centerville at the First United Methodist Church on July 1, 2018.  Pam is a local licensed pastor, was licensed in 2004 and graduated from Course of Study at St. Paul School of Theology in 2015.  Pam came to Centerville from the Wapello United Methodist Church in Wapello, IA where she served for seven years. Prior to Wapello she served in North East Iowa at the Elma United Methodist, Riceville and McIntire United Methodist Churches.  Ministry is a second career for Pastor Pam. She was in banking for 16 years in Lime Springs, IA and worked as a Chiropractic Assistant for 10 years in Burlington.  Her call to ministry came while she was a member of the Lime Springs United Methodist Church.

Pam was born and raised in Burlington, Iowa and has two daughters, Melissa and her husband Derek of Bellingham, WA and Megan and her boyfriend Brendan of Savannah, GA.  Pam is married to her husband Steve Herrick, from La Crosse, WI (born in Chicago).  They were married August 18, 2012 and decided they should both keep their own last names at this point in their lives.  Steve is a union electrician currently working for Tri City Electric.

Community outreach and small group ministry are very important aspects of Pastor Pam’s ministry.  She believes the church should be doing as much as it can outside the doors of the church in order to help and reach the community.  Within the church there should be opportunities for all ages and that is something Pam is working on.

Neither Pam nor Steve had ever been to Centerville, but they are settling in and like the community. The town and surrounding areas have a lot to offer.  They both enjoy camping and kayaking as well as gardening. Steve does woodworking in his spare time and Pam likes to read, cook, can produce, and collect Coca-Cola memorabilia.
